What I can offer
Hi, I’m Susie, an Occupational Therapist with experience supporting people living with neurological conditions, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), spinal injuries, and dementia. I work closely with individuals and their families to help make everyday activities safer, easier, and more meaningful.
I provide hands-on occupational therapy in the comfort of your own home, where real life happens. My approach is practical and personalised, combining therapy support with clear advice on adaptations, strategies, and equipment that can improve independence and confidence in daily life.
I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, heard, and supported. I offer a calm, compassionate space where we can work together at your pace. I’ll guide you through each step of the process, helping you find solutions that truly fit your needs and goals.

Services
Rehabilitation
I provide occupational therapy rehabilitation in your own home, with a focus on building independence, confidence, and quality of life. Working in your home environment allows therapy to be practical, relevant, and tailored to what matters most to you.
Our work together usually begins with an initial home visit, where I take time to get to know you, understand your needs, and assess how you manage day-to-day activities. Depending on the complexity of your situation, I can then provide a detailed report with clear recommendations for therapy and support.
I offer rehabilitation across a wide range of areas, including:
Upper limb recovery
Cognitive rehabilitation
Fatigue management and sleep hygiene
Anxiety management and confidence building
Road safety, community access, and participation
Activities of daily living such as cooking and personal care
Return to work and return to driving
Advice and guidance on aids, equipment, and home adaptations
Together, we set SMART goals that are meaningful to you, and these are regularly reviewed to ensure therapy stays focused and effective.
I can work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) alongside other professionals, or independently as your sole therapist, depending on your needs and circumstances. My approach is flexible, collaborative, and always centred around you.
Equipment, adaptations and environmental advice
As an Occupational Therapist, I provide specialist advice on a wide range of equipment and home adaptations to support safety, comfort, and independence. I keep up to date with the latest products, from small everyday aids that make activities of daily living easier, to larger items such as beds, riser-recliner chairs, and wheelchairs.
Major adaptations can be a significant investment, so it’s important to choose solutions that are right for your needs and suitable for your home environment. I offer clear, unbiased guidance to help you make informed decisions, looking carefully at layout, functionality, and the style of equipment to ensure it works well for you in the long term.
I can also recommend reliable and trusted suppliers, helping to take the stress out of the process. In addition, I provide advice on environmental control technology to support independence and ease of use within the home.
Whether you’re considering an accessible bathroom or kitchen, installing a stairlift or ramp, planning grab rail placement, or simply unsure what equipment would be most helpful, I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.
Testimonials
Brain injury rehabilitation client
Susie was my Occupational Therapist and she was always very kind and friendly. She has helped me get back on my feet making sure my knees are stronger, getting me outside, helping with better sleeping habits and now I have a tidy sleep space. She has helped me around my home, learning how to prepare meals for myself and my partner and doing housework. She also helped me to get back to gardening and learning to take rests to pace myself.
I’ve learnt how to manage my fatigue and activity levels. She’s been a blessing and come in with a smile to put me at ease with my autism and Asperger’s. I feel I can talk to her easily.
When getting up after sitting for a long period of time, she gave me simple exercises to help when getting up from my sofa and getting out of bed. She also provided me with a very simple device to help get in and out of my car and hiking poles for when I go for walks everyday. Thank you
Falls support
Susie came to visit my mother in law, who was 94, after she had a fall and her situation sadly began to deteriorate. From the very first moment I got in touch with Susie, following a recommendation from Adult Social Services, everything was handled with care, professionalism, and kindness.
Susie immediately gave our family peace of mind at what was a very difficult and worrying time. She was calm, compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable, taking time to explain things clearly and making sure we felt supported throughout the process. Her approach made a huge difference to us, not just practically but emotionally as well.
I would highly recommend Susie to anyone needing an occupational therapist. Her professionalism, empathy, and genuine care truly stand out.
Stroke rehabilitation
OT is a mixture of frustration and success! The practice and support I get from Susie has made a tremendous difference to my life and I always look forward to her visits. After my stroke I could barely move my left arm, but now I can use it to take part in so many everyday activities. I still get frustrated, but I know I need to keep working on it
